Best credit card for free international insurance. No need for points. Have Applied for ANZ black card but impossible service. Do all cards require travel purchase prior. ANZ has a min $250 spend prior.

Hi Russell, although we can’t recommend one card over the other, the best card is ultimately a matter of personal opinion. You can however check out a range of cards that have travel insurance included. And most of the cards have a minimum travel-related spend requirement in order to be covered. For more information, you’ll have to dig into each card's insurance terms and conditions, qualifying requirements, and general exclusions.

Currently have an emirates Citibank card with miles going directly to the Emirates skywards program. Which would be another Citibank card which is similar but gives me an option of which frequent flyer program I choose? Thankyou

Hi Daniela, the Citi Rewards Card – Purchases and Balance Transfer Offer lets you easily transfer your Citi reward Points to a variety of airline and other loyalty programs including Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer and Velocity Frequent Flyer. You can also visit Citi’s website or contact them directly for more information on other credit card products with a points transfer feature that could work for you.

I am interested in the Citi simplicity credit card, but as I,m on the pension my income is less than $10,000 per year. Most months I have less than $500.00 on my card, which I pay off before it’s due. Do you have a card suitable for me?
    Pauline - CreditCard.com.au

    Pauline

    29 November 2021
Hi Rhonda, you’ve come through to CreditCard.com.au and not Citibank. In saying that from anecdotal evidence the minimum income for the lower end of credit cards is around $15,000 p.a. With what you’ve stated above it might be worthwhile to talk to your current provider to see if they have any offers for you. Sorry we couldn’t be of more assistance.

Which is the best card to get to be able to consolidate personal loan and credit cards?
    Roland B Bleyer - CreditCard.com.au Founder

    Roland

    10 August 2021
Hi Zak, thanks for your question! While we do not recommend one card over another, each of the cards have different offers. Currently only CIti cards and cards backed by Citi like Qantas accept personal loan debt. If you'd like to compare your options we have curated a list of credit cards that offer consolidating personal loans and credit card balances. Let us know how you go!

    9 June 2021
Hi Mark, thanks for your question. There are some credit cards that have a lower threshold for income requirements at $15,000 p.a. You’ll need to provide evidence of income and meet the other eligibility requirements. We’ve compiled a range of lower income credit cards you can consider here. Best of luck!

How much credit card 1 year fee
Jo

I am looking for a credit card which has no annual fee for first 6-12 months , the least transaction fees or foreign exchange fee that I can use for ATM withdrawals and purchases in USA and Canada. Thanks

    9 April 2019
Hi Jo, this combination is very difficult to achieve. There is only 1 card that provides no cash advance fees overseas plus no foreign fees. It's the ANZ Rewards Travel Adventure. Though this card is currently out of market. Likely to be back next month if that can work. This is a great card as it also delivers reward points and insurance. Outside of this the classic choice would be the 28 Degrees. It has no annual or foreign fees. Though you will be charged a cash advance fee, even if in Debit. Best if you can stick to purchases to avoid the fees. For cash withdrawals, may I suggest the Orange Everyday. Its using your money but this way you can avoid any cash fees.

Do you have a process to transfer points to frequent flyer programs, eg qantas , Singapore airlines
    Roland B Bleyer - CreditCard.com.au Founder

    Roland

    14 March 2019
Hi Michael, you can do the transfer online through the CitiRewards.com site. It depends on what card you have to where you can transfer points. Some cards will automatically transfer points if say its linked with Qantas.

If I already have a citi bank credit card can I change it to another type of credit card you have?
    Roland B Bleyer - CreditCard.com.au Founder

    Roland

    31 January 2019
Hi Liz, yes this is possible. Though you would need to go through the application process once more. You will not be able to transfer Citi credit card debt to another Citi offer. If you have current Citi debt and are looking to balance transfer. Then something like the HSBC Platinum could work.

To my knowledge I have a good credit rating Unfortunately I had a small debt with Bancorp that I finalised 11 business days ago They assured me this would clear my record I have the finalised bill as proof, but this somehow is holding me back I'm after a low rate credit card limit of $5,000 I am on a disability pension and have the means either my budget to afford this What can I do?? Pls help
    Roland B Bleyer - CreditCard.com.au Founder

    20 December 2018
Hi Belinda, I would definitely check your credit report to see if there is an negative activity from Bancorp. If they have agreed not to place anything negative on your credit file, then you need to ensure this is the case. All credit cards require good credit to get approved. If your credit file is clean then the ANZ Low Rate might be an option for you.

how long would my credit card arrive after application if approved?
    Roland B Bleyer - CreditCard.com.au Founder

    Roland

    19 November 2018
Hi Chris, it varies based on a range of factors. As a guide it should take 5-10 workings days to process an application. Post approval you should have your card within 5 working days but this could be faster.

What can you do if the answer you give to a Citibank application question, is not accepted by the program? Can you have a request on your credit report removed?
    Roland B Bleyer - CreditCard.com.au Founder

    Roland

    16 August 2018
Hi Bruce, I am not sure on your exact situation with Citi. When you apply for credit it is recorded on your credit file. Whether you are approve, I believe is not. Having a single application on your credit file will not have a huge impact on your ability to get credit. If you apply for multiple credit within a short period of time then its likely you will be auto declined. My suggestion is only to apply for 1 or a maximum of 2 credit items (but not often) in a 6 month period.

I have never had a credit card before and was wondering how to go about getting one.
    Roland B Bleyer - CreditCard.com.au Founder

    Roland

    15 March 2018
Hi Raymond, you can apply online for a credit card in around 10-15 mins. You need to have a range of information ready such as income / expenses, assets / liabilities. You also will need to provide your ID and proof of the income. What type of card are you looking for? One that provides rewards and that you pay off in full each month?

what would be the best credit card for $8000
    Roland B Bleyer - CreditCard.com.au Founder

    Roland

    25 January 2018
Hi Michael, are you looking to transfer $8,000? It will depend on what bank this debt is with as a balance transfer needs to be between different banks. Also how long you need to pay off the debt then is a factor. I like the St George Vertigo Platinum exclusive due to no annual fee first year, 0% for 24 months on balance and no balance transfer fees.

hi just wondering on Citibank if bpay is considered a cash advance or if you get the 55 days interest free?
    Roland B Bleyer - CreditCard.com.au Founder

    Roland

    18 December 2017
Hi Donna, BPAYs are typically seen as purchases. Therefore you can get up to 55 days interest free depending on when you make the bpay in your billing cycle. To get interest free days you must pay off the card in full the previous period.
