I think the RSPCA do an amazing job so when I saw this card I knew it was my way of giving back. The annual fee is really cheap, and as long as I pay off what I owe each month, it is an affordable card. There should be more cards like this.

The Bendigo Bank RSPCA Credit Card

If you’re an animal lover and you want to do more to help furry friends in need, the Bendigo Bank RSPCA Credit Card could be the credit card for you. Donating a percentage of your credit card spending to RSPCA’s Adoptapet, this card lets you give as you spend. Not only that, you can choose to set up a $5 monthly tax deductible donation as well.

What we love...

What’s not to love about helping animals in need? RSPCA’s Adoptapet is funded by Bendigo Bank’s RSPCA Credit Card holders, which allows the charity to care for and protect thousands of animals in need, before they find their forever-owners and are adopted into loving homes.

As a Bendigo Bank RSPCA Rescue Credit Card holder, a percentage of your credit card spend is donated to RSCPA Adoptapet so they can care for the animals that need it most. If you want to give a little more to the cause, you can choose to donate an additional $5 per month to RSPCA Adoptapet, which is completely tax deductible.

With that funding, RSPCA Adoptapet can make sure all animals that arrive in their shelters are de-sexed, microchipped and vaccinated, before they find the best possible homes with loving owners. Whether it’s a dog or cat, a horse or rabbit, all animals can find their second chance thanks to RCPCA Adoptapet and generous donations from cardholders like you.

What’s not so great...

Before applying for the Bendigo Bank RSPCA Credit Card, it’s a good idea to find out a little more about it. Happily, this card has a nice low annual fee, with no fees for additional cardholders. However, it does come with a relatively high interest rate on purchases and cash advances, so this is not a card you’d want to carry a balance on.

Aside from that, this is a pretty standard credit card. As long as you clear your balance month to month – and you don’t expect any amazing features and extras – this card could be a great card to keep in your wallet. Plus, you can experience a little bit of joy, knowing that every time you use the card, you are giving to animals in need.

Why should you choose this card?

It’s easy to say you want to give to charity, but that doesn’t mean you always follow up on it. If you’re an animal lover, this card lets you give to a worthy cause, without you having to remember to donate. A percentage of your credit card spend will automatically go to RSPCA Adoptapet, with the option of giving a $5 monthly donation on top of that.

In terms of card features, you can take advantage of up to 55 days interest free on purchases, contactless payments with Mastercard PayPass, and worldwide acceptance through the Mastercard network.

On top of that, you can benefit from 24/7 fraud monitoring and no liability for unauthorised transactions, as well as access to Mastercard Priceless Cities exclusive experiences and special offers, and free personalisation of your card with an image of your choice.

Overall Rating

A low annual fee credit card that provides a basic range of features, donating a percentage of the card’s spend to RSPCA Adoptapet, with the option to donate an additional tax deductible $5 per month.

Hi Ahmad, you would need good credit history to be approved for this or any of the credit cards in the market. In Australia, there are actually truly bad credit credit cards. The best thing to do is to patch up your credit as best as you can and in many cases you will just have to wait until defaults are removed from your credit file. Defaults take 5 years to do so. I had 1 default myself that stopped me from getting approved. As soon as the 5 years was up, I was able to get credit again. You can still have a go if you like and see what happens as approvals will depend on a range of other factors as well.

Hi Mariandl - since it is a Visa card, it would be accepted in most countries that Visa is accepted. Sometimes there are exceptions as in Cuba in the past it has been difficult for some AU issued cards but as a general rule Visa is most accepted.

I am enquiriing about how to put 2000 dollars into an account and use it as security for a credit card with the same amount, I don't want it used, just left as a te deposit, it's for a business, but a personal account is fine, Thanks Martyn Harriss

Hi Martyn, you would need to contact Bendigo bank directly with this query. I am not sure that they have a secured credit card product. They are not very popular in Australia as people will just use a Visa or MasterCard debit account instead.
