The Bendigo Bank Business Credit Card

As a low rate business credit card, the Bendigo Bank Business Credit Card not only provides business owners with access to credit at a low rate of interest, it also provides a range of features most businesses would find useful.

This is a business credit card that provides increased financial control, allowing business owners to assign individual credit limits, with itemised addendums for every cardholder. The card also allows for a flexible billing structure and flexible liability arrangements, as well as compatibility with accounting software such as MYOB.

What we love...

One of the things we love most about this card is the increased financial control it provides business owners. With this card, business owners can set individual spending limits for each cardholder, with optional ATM access for nominated cardholders.

There is a single monthly statement for the account, including an itemised addendum for each individual cardholder. A flexible billing structure is also on offer, providing the business owner with a choice of who pays, when and how much. On top of that, businesses can pay suppliers online using Bendigo e-banking, and upload transactions to accounting software such as MYOB.

Liability arrangements are also flexible, allowing the business owner to choose between company liability, individual liability or joint and several liability. Company liability is best for company structures, where the business accepts liability for all transactions, while individual liability is better suited to sole traders, and joint and several liability works best for partnerships.

What’s not so great...

There’s not much not to love about this card. It has a relatively low monthly fee and annual fee, it has a low rate of interest, and it has some seriously handy features. It doesn’t provide some of the more extravagant extras that some business credit cards offer, such as rewards programs and platinum perks, but as long as you’re not expecting those, there’s not much to complain about.

Why should you choose this card?

Choosing this card provides business owners with all the great features mentioned above, plus, it also offers a relatively low rate of interest, with up to 44 days interest free on purchases. Account holders will pay an affordable annual fee, plus a nominal $4 per card for each cardholder.

For that, they can benefit from global acceptance through Mastercard, and all the associated features that come as standard from Mastercard, such as Tap & Go with Mastercard PayPass and access to worldwide emergency services through Mastercard Global Service.

As a financial provider, Bendigo Bank also provides added card security using the free Bendigo Bank Protect+Pay app, which allows cardholders to temporarily block their card if they misplace it, block specific types of transactions, update their PIN, check their balance, report a lost or stolen card, or cancel the card from their mobile.

Overall Rating

An excellent business credit card with a low interest rate and low annual fee, providing a range of useful business-related features and card security options.

Hi Roy, to apply for a business credit card, you will need to provide them with a valid ABN registered for GST. Sometimes banks require your account details and copies of your latest BAS too. If you are looking at other banks for options, you can compare a range of business credit cards to see what else is in the market.
