The BankSA Amplify Signature Credit Card with up to 150,000 bonus Amplify Points

For some people, simple is better. All they want is a no-frills credit card at the lowest possible cost. For others though, they are looking for something more from their card. While they may not be looking for prestige, per se, they are looking for prestige features.

Offering a dazzling array of extras, the BankSA Amplify Signature Credit Card could be the ideal option if you happen to want more from your card. Providing the choice between two rewards programs, this card offers a great earn rate, alongside plenty of features and up to 150,000 bonus Amplify Points as a welcome offer. If you want to earn Qantas points, see the BankSA Amplify Signature Credit Card – Qantas.

Point calculations are accurate as of 1 August 2024 but may be subject to change without notice. All routes may have additional taxes and charges. Check on the official BankSA page for the updated calculations.

What we love...

One of the things we love most about the BankSA Amplify Signature Credit Card is its bonus points offer. Allowing you to get a head-start on your points-saving, the card provides you with 150,000 bonus Amplify Points, worth up to $675 in eGift cards, when you apply for a new card by 30 November 2024, are approved, and spend a minimum of $12,000 on eligible purchases within the first 12 months from card approval./p>

And everyday points earning potential? If you choose to earn on the Amplify Rewards program, you could earn 1.5 Amplify Points per $1 spent on eligible purchases within Australia and overseas, with no points capping.

The points you earn can be redeemed for up to $675 in eGift cards. Choose from merchant gift cards or retail vouchers, homewares or tech, or they could go towards your next travel adventure when used within frequent flyer programs such as Malaysia Airlines’ Enrich and Singapore Airlines’ KrisFlyer.

Alternatively, if you choose to earn on the Qantas Rewards program, you could earn 0.75 Qantas Points per $1 spent, uncapped, with the opportunity to earn double points on purchases with Qantas Frequent Flyer Program partners. Click here to see the offer.

Within the Qantas program, you have a huge choice of redemption options, whether that means using your points within the Qantas Store, or redeeming points for flights and upgrades with Qantas or one of its 35 partner airlines.

Added to the welcome benefit package of this card is a discounted annual fee. Pay $199 in the first year, saving you $96. Take advantage of this offer and save more. This offer runs until 30 November 2024.

What’s not so great...

As a rewards card, there are certain factors to be aware of before applying for the BankSA Amplify Signature Credit Card. For one thing, the Qantas earn rate is relatively low compared to other prestige rewards cards on the Qantas program.

Also, just note that you won't be eligible for the bonus points offer if you currently hold or have held an Amplify, Amplify Platinum or Amplify Signature card issued by BankSA, Bank of Melbourne, or St.George in the last 12 months.

You should also be aware of the significant ongoing annual fee, the high rates of interest applied to cash advances and purchases, and the high minimum credit limit.

Why should you choose this card?

Saying that, choosing a prestige card should be all about balance. Avoid unnecessary interest payments, and work out whether the features on offer are worth more than what you’re paying out in annual fees.

Luckily, the BankSA Amplify Signature Credit Card has plenty of features to tip the scales. Aside from the rewards program and bonus points offer, this card offers a range of complimentary insurances, including travel insurance, extended warranty insurance and price guarantee cover.

You can also benefit from two Priority Pass lounge visits per year on the Amplify Rewards program or two Qantas lounge passes, and membership to the Visa Luxury Hotel Collection.

Overall Rating

A prestige rewards card that earns points on the Amplify or Qantas rewards program, offering fantastic features, 150,000 bonus Amplify Points, discounted first-year annual fee. Promotional offers are available to new cards only.

can the balance transfer be used to pay Citibank redi credit debt ?
    Roland B Bleyer - CreditCard.com.au Founder

    Roland

    18 October 2016
Hi Bev, as the Citi Ready Credit is a line of credit rather than a credit card it is not possible to transfer it. What you need to look for is a low rate personal loan that can save you interest on what you are paying with ready credit.
