Diners Club

What are Diners Club cards?

Diner's Club started as a multi-purpose charge card back in 1950. Although it's far less prominent now than it was then, it's still a pretty good way to earn extra rewards on your spending.

Today, you can access Diner's Club in two ways: by linking a Diner's Club to any of Citi's Rewards, Premier and Prestige credit cards, or getting a Citi Diner's Club card.

When your eligible Citi card is activated, you can apply for a linked Diner's Card via the Citi Online portal. If your card earns Qantas Points, you can earn Qantas Points on your linked Diner's Club card. Otherwise, you'll earn Citi rewards Points when you spend on the card.

There are no international transaction fees when you use your Linked Diner's Club cards, and it has the same insurances and protections as your Citi card. However, perks like Citi's 4th hotel night free and Priority Pass lounge access are only available if you use your Citi card.

If you get your hands on a Citi Diner's Club card, you'll also get unlimited points earning potential, and these rewards:

Travel: Get access to over 1300 airport lounges around the world, hotel discounts and travel perks.

Shopping:You can redeem Citi Diner's Club points on a huge variety of options from homewares to subscriptions, health and beauty, entertainment and activities and more.

Diner's Club can be used anywhere its accepted, including ATMs. To find participating merchants near you, you can visit its Merchant Finder.

Hi CC, I think the Explorer. An important part would be acceptance of the card. I assume that AMEX is accepted in heaps more than Diners. Diners is not a Mastercard but there own network of cards - https://www.creditcard.com.au/diners-club/. On the AMEX side I like the bonus points, travel credit, smart phone insurance and flexibility of 8 airlines to transfer points to. In the end you need to look at how much you spend a month on the card and what types of rewards you are after to select the right card. With all rewards cards they need to paid off in full each month as they have high interest rates.
