St.George Vertigo Card - Purchase Offer

St.George Vertigo Credit Card has been offering attractive promotions to its consumers such as the 0% p.a. for 32 months on balance transfers combined with 0% p.a. interest on purchases for 6 months. And this time, St.George launched its new offer through its Vertigo credit card - 0% p.a. on purchases for the first 18 months plus no annual fee in the first year.

What we love…

Unlike the usual 6 months promotional period on purchases, St.George added more to Vertigo’s great value with a longer offer period. Apply for a new St.George Vertigo Credit Card by 2 March 2022, get approved, and enjoy 0% p.a. on purchases for 18 months from card approval. That’s more than a year of savings as you make small to big everyday purchases without getting charged with interest.

Aside from the savings you can get, this offer could give you more flexibility in managing your purchases when it comes to payments. You could use the 18-month interest-free offer on a big-ticket purchase or for everyday spending as long as you pay it all off within the introductory period and stay within your credit limit. After the introductory period ends, you can still enjoy a stress-free shopping experience while using the card as the ongoing standard purchase rate is friendly and low at 13.99% p.a.

Additionally, you can enjoy all this card’s offers, benefits, and extras without worrying about the annual card fee in the first year. And this reverts to an ongoing card fee of $55 which is pretty worth it for this card’s value.

What’s not so great...

If you are looking for cards that offer rewards and points, St.George Vertigo Credit Card is not for you. This is a straightforward facility that lets you save a lot from your everyday transactions.

Why should you choose this card?

If you are into buying things, big and small, and at the same time want to save a lot of money, better choose this version of St.George Vertigo Credit Card. You could also manage your payments according to your needs and capabilities which reduces your stress. Aside from the introductory offer, you can also benefit from up to 55 days interest free on purchases when you pay the closing balance on time.

This has also a low minimum credit limit which is perfect for beginners and those who struggle with spending temptations. Other features include one free additional cardholder, 24/7 Fraud monitoring, secure online shopping, and card block and quick balance, allowing them to block their card for up to 15 days when they misplace it, and check the balance of up to two accounts at a glance on the St.George mobile banking app, without having to log in.

Overall Rating

A no-frills card that charges you low ongoing interest rates and provides awesome introductory offers - 0% p.a. for 18 months on purchases and no annual card fee for the first year.

Just need to clarify how this card works. If I make a purchase of say $10,000 on the day I receive the card, do I then get 18 months to repay it interest free? Also what if I make additional purchases say two months later, how long is the interest free period on those purchases?

Hi Joanne, the 0% on purchases is a promotional offer for 18 months and this starts on the day of card approval. To enjoy this offer, you need to pay at least the minimum amount on or before the due date indicated on your statement monthly. If monthly payment is not sufficient, you’ll pay interest on your purchases from the day you make them and you will lose the benefit of interest-free days for at least the next statement period. When the 0% purchases promo period ends, it will revert back to the 55 days interest-free. I hope this has helped!
