    12 July 2017
Hi M, I believe that having the AMEX Gold Charge card (if its stand alone) makes you a current AMEX customer. Therefore you would not be eligible for these bonus points. If you look outside of AMEX there are a range of other providers that have bonus points available on cards right now. Though the 100k Velocity points is the highest that I am aware of in the Velocity space.

Hi Steve, minimum requirements such as income are defined by the issuer. It is possible that these may change in future but not at this time and unlikely whilst this offer is in play. If you let me know your income, I can offer some suggestions of cards that could suit.

Again. Much thanks for your advice and Sorry again, but I need to be clear, as the other cards I have had only required I spend $260 in any part of my trip to be fully covered, do I need to be sure. You and PDF talk only of flights going and returning. 1. If I leave Australia in a ship and return by plane am I covered? 2. If I return from a different country I arrived to, am I covered? 3. If I do not book return flight at same time, as sometimes I just book to leave at one time but leave return open and don't know fot. What country I will be returning from. am I covered? And thanks gorgeos hint me a good trip. Knowing all I need to know for a good travel insurance rill surly help. I gave read the PDF but can't see answers to my questions and have problems eith telephones.

Hi Maria, I am not an expert in the overseas travel insurance available with this card. As per the PDF > So if You are unclear about anything in this document, please call Chubb on 1800 236 023 and Our insurance team will be happy to assist You with any enquiries. In my mind as long as you pay for the travel out of AU and back to AU then you should be covered. Though call Chubb to confirm everything as the insurer is whom you want to hear from.

Sorry, I mailed last one before completing as had a call. This is still in relation to travel insurance. What is actually included in paying the full fare for a trip? Does this only include travel, such as plane and ships, or also hotels and land tours? In many countries American Express is not accepted. What do we do then? Much thanks again Maria
    Roland B Bleyer - CreditCard.com.au Founder

    8 June 2017
Hi Maria, as per my last comment. You just need to pay for your main return flight out of AU and back for the insurance. If you have concerns with your cover give the insurance company listed within the PDF a call to make sure that you are covered how you want to be. Most important of all have a great trip away as it sounds amazing!

1. Firstly, my thanks for answering my past questions. But I am not very clear about the cover I will get for travelling. The PDF says "Cover is effective when You pay the full fare for a Trip on the American Express Velocity Platinum Card Account or with Velocity Points" However, if I am taking several flights, staying in hotels and taking cruises and flights not serviced by Virgin, will I still be covered for those six months if I am able to fully pay for only one Virgin flight as Virgin does not have flights to all places I want to go?
    Roland B Bleyer - CreditCard.com.au Founder

    Roland

    8 June 2017
Hi Maria, the important thing is to pay for the major flight from Australia and returning to Australia with your card. You will be covered then for all the trips in-between as well. The flight you book does not need to be with Virgin to get the insurance. Virgin Australia and Virgin Money are 2 separate companies only linked through the brand but owned by different parties.

Hi Maria. The complimentary domestic economy Virgin Australia return flight is only available between selected Australian cities and is available for booking by American Express Velocity Platinum Card Members after your first Card spend in the first year, and then after your first Card spend each year after the anniversary of your Membership. Another PDF I found on this is here. On your 2nd point, yes you need to book a return flight, that is at the same time.

1. How long is the duration of the complimenrtary travel insurance? If I travel for one year, non stop, will I be fully covered? 2. If I travel in another airline or do a cruise, because Virgin does not go there, such as South America, with the complimentary insurance be available? 3. To get the complimentary insurance do I need to purchase or my travel and cruises with the Amex card or is it OK if I just pay part of it with the Amex.

    7 June 2017
Hi Maria, I believe the travel insurance is valid up to 6 months. Though I would check this with the issuer. Typically you could pay a fee on top if you need to extend the cover. Check out this PDF that I found that explains in full details what you get. 2. You do not need to fly virgin for the insurance to be valid you just need to meet the eligibility requirements that are covered in the PDF that I have linked to. 3. Cover is effective when You pay the full fare for a Trip on the American Express Velocity Platinum Card Account or with Velocity Points.

Hi Flor, yes NAB are dropping their AMEX companion cards. Good news that you would be still eligible for the bonus points and this card, subject to credit approval. Best of luck with your application.

I have a corporate AMEX card through my employer and a personal NAB AMEX platinum card. I have just applied for this card assuming that I will not be classified as a current AMEX cardholder so expect the 100,000 bonus points will apply. Is this a correct assumption?

Hi Justin, yes your assumption sounds correct. The corporate is in the name of your employer and having the NAB companion card does not count you as a direct customer. Did you apply through our website - creditcard.com.au?

Hi M, I believe that having the AMEX Gold Charge card (if its stand alone) makes you a current AMEX customer. Therefore you would not be eligible for these bonus points. If you look outside of AMEX there are a range of other providers that have bonus points available on cards right now. Though the 100k Velocity points is the highest that I am aware of in the Velocity space.

Hi, I have currently ANZ Frequent Flyer card. ANZ issued both Visa and Amex cards. Does it mean that im an Amex customer? Will I get bonus points if I sign up for this offer? Regards Julia

Hi Julia, good news, you are not a direct AMEX customer that means you are eligible for this massive bonus points over. Best of luck with your application.

Why do you need to have an annual income of $65k for a minimum limit of $3k. I have a citibank platinum card with a limit of $15k with a minimal annual income of $35k plus the first year the annual card fee was waived. I would love to appy for your credit card if your requirements were eased a little more. Regards Steve Aquilina

Hi Maria, the important thing is to pay for the major flight from Australia and returning to Australia with your card. You will be covered then for all the trips in-between as well. The flight you book does not need to be with Virgin to get the insurance. Virgin Australia and Virgin Money are 2 separate companies only linked through the brand but owned by different parties.

1. How soon can I use the free return? 2. Do I have to book the free return at the same time I book the first flight?
