Citi will become MyCard in November: here’s what to expect

Last updated

Pauline Hatch

From November 24 2025, Citi credit cards will be reimagined as the new, sleek brand MyCard. Customers will get a slick new app and improved online experience, and updated features including slashed fees and complimentary mobile phone insurance.

Citi to MyCard transition

The brand’s new identity is the final stage of NAB’s long-term integration of Citi, which it acquired in 2022. It’s a move that the sometimes-clunky Citi needed to bring it into alignment with NABs more modern digital services and streamlined customer experience.

However, the benefits and rewards that have made Citi credit cards so popular will remain, albeit with a range of new cards and colours.

Citi customers will have received notification of the transition via email, with more communication to come throughout November, according to NAB.

Key changes in the switch from Citi to MyCard

  1. A better digital experience
The most prominent change is the brand new MyCard app and website portal, which will provide a much better digital experience for customers and improved tools to manage accounts. Customers will be provided with new login information.
  2. New account and BPAY details
While account numbers and BPAY codes will change, any current BPAY or recurring payments will be automatically processed to the new account number. Similarly, the Citi-branded credit card number will stay the same. Customers will be able to see the new account details in the new app or on the first MyCard statement. BPAY payments will no longer be accepted over the phone.
  3. New benefits
A very welcome new feature is the addition of Samsung Pay as a payment option alongside Google Pay and Apple Pay. Customers can benefit from new complimentary Mobile Phone Insurance provided by AIG with an eligible MyCard Visa or Mastercard account.
  4. Updated fees
Another welcome change is the removal of the dishonour fee and overlimit fee (for applicable accounts) from November 24. However, the International Transaction Fee will increase from 3.4% to 3.5% of the transaction amount (from November 17), and the annual fee and additional cardholder fee will increase for some credit cards.
  5. Changes to limits and interest-free days
Customers with a balance transfer who make the monthly “Interest free days payment” will now receive interest free days on retail purchases. Total cash limits will also be aligned with credit limits, and “Annual Primary Cardholder Fee” will be renamed “Annual Fee”.

Changes to the Citi Rewards program

Citi Rewards will be renamed the MyCard Rewards program. Details on changes to the program can be found in the new T&Cs under Online Servicing.

The Citi Qantas Rewards program will become the MyCard Qantas Rewards Program and the $49 fee will be removed and included in the annual fee. The rewards balance will be moved to the app and online banking rather than the monthly statement.

Services that are staying the same

While the new branding should provide a better customer experience, there are many features that will stay the same. Throughout the transition and beyond, customers can use their card as usual. No changes will be made to credit card numbers.

All existing balances and rewards will carry over to the new MyCard account automatically. NAB will continue to be the credit card issuer and credit provider, so the change to MyCard is essentially a cosmetic rebranding of Citi with improved features.

Current instalment plans and hardship plans will be unaffected.

How the transition will take place

NAB says customers can expect some service interruptions between now and November 24, 2025, but will be able to use their credit card as normal for the most part.

For example, customers will not be able to add extra cardholders, increase credit limits or create new instalment plans until the rollout is complete. Customers who close their account between November 14 to 24 will receive their refund after November 24, and Bank@Post transactions will be paused between November 20 and 23.

No online services will be available between 7.30pm 21 November and 24 November.

Customers should make sure they’re receiving communication from NAB about the upcoming changes.

What can customers do now?

Cardholders can wait for more instructions on downloading the new MyCard app and login information for the online services. Any questions can be sent to cardservicesdirect.com.au/contactus.

Hi Tracey, you can continue using your current Citi card as normal. If you lose your card, if it's stolen, damaged or is close to expiring, you'll get a new one. Just keep in mind that you’ll need to follow the setup steps for the MyCard App/Online to manage your account moving forward. If you’d like more details about the transition, you can check the MyCard FAQs, or call 13 24 84 if you’d prefer to speak with someone directly.

Hi Janet, that would be a stressful message to receive. Since you’re on CreditCard.com.au, we can’t see your account, but our guide to credit card fraud and security explains what to do when you receive an alert like this. The safest next step is to contact your bank directly using the phone number on the back of your card so they can check the transaction and secure your account if needed.

Hi Kay, thanks for asking. If you’d like to stay up to date on where things currently stand, our MyCard credit cards guide summarises everything Citi has transitioned to so far. MyCard hasn’t opened applications for their new cards yet, but their team shares updates through the MyCard FAQs if you want to keep an eye out for changes.

I know Mycard has only just become available but how long will it take to get their act together? I have two credit cards with them but can only access one via the app and the other on-line as there is no facility to have them linked to one account. I've never experienced this in the past. I also need to watch the accounts closely as it appears that transactions from the change-over weekend that had appeared previously have now disappeared, giving a false balance on both my credit cards. This does not instil trust in the product.

    5 December 2025
Hi Stephen, that sounds incredibly frustrating. Our Citi to MyCard update covers how the migration works and what to expect with account access, balances and transaction history. If one of your cards isn’t appearing or transactions look incorrect, it’s best to speak with MyCard directly so they can check your accounts and correct anything missing. Their customer support line is 13 24 84, and you can also refer to their MyCard FAQs.

    Pauline - CreditCard.com.au

    4 December 2025
Hi Lucy, thanks for your question. This transition has brought up a lot of practical concerns like this. MyCard does allow customers to receive statements either online or by mail, depending on the preference set on the account. If you’ve been receiving paper statements with your Citibank card, it’s best to confirm directly with MyCard whether that will continue under your new account. On the MyCard website it does say you'll continue receiving paper statements, but may be charged a $2 fee. So, it's worth checking! You’ll find their help and contact options on the official MyCard website. If you’d prefer to speak with someone, MyCard’s customer support team is available on 13 24 84.

Why would you cancel access online and via my app? The only access I have now to my card is to resign into mycard. You supposedly sent an email with a login last Monday, which you did not. You then have a back up plan for creating an account, a 2 step program where you add your card numbers and DOB and supposedly send a text to my email, which you haven't. And I have tried this now about a dozen times. I then call the only number to speak to someone and am told there is no call back if I leave my number facility. And I am now on hold for 2 hours and 7 minutes.... YOU DONT THINK THIS IS RIDICULOUS OR BOARDERING ON CRIMINAL!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Mike, thanks for sharing what’s been happening. That sounds incredibly frustrating, especially when you’re just trying to access your account. You’re actually on CreditCard.com.au, Australia's leading credit card comparison site, not MyCard/NAB. The MyCard transition has required all former Citi customers to create new login details for both online banking and the app, and issues like missing verification texts or emails can sometimes happen if the system can’t match details on file. The best next step is to contact MyCard directly so they can check your identity details, resend your login setup link, or manually verify your account. Their official support line is 13 24 84.

    4 December 2025
Hi Cliff, thanks for your question. A lot of former Citi customers are wondering about this during the move. Your past Citi statements, including your final one, are now accessed through your new MyCard online account once you’re registered and signed in. They appear in your statement history the same way they did before. If you have trouble finding older statements, MyCard’s customer support team can help on 13 24 84.

Once your profile is set up, you can sign in online or through the MyCard app to view your statements, payments, and transactions. You can check the steps in the MyCard FAQs. If you run into any issues registering or logging in, their customer service team can help on 13 24 84.

    4 December 2025
Hi Tori, thanks for your question. MyCard transactions don’t use the old Citi or NAB feed setup, so the best way to check which bank feed option Xero supports for your new card is to confirm directly with MyCard or with Xero’s support team. You can find MyCard’s transition information on their official site. For feed compatibility, MyCard’s support team is available on 13 24 84, and Xero support can also help verify which bank connection to select.

Hi Elaine, good question! The official MyCard app has a dark brown icon with rounded corners, and the letters “my” appear in a light tan colour in the centre, just like the image you’re seeing on your device. Once you install it and sign in, you’ll be able to view your balance, transactions, statements, and payment options. When I was asked to move onto MYCard, I set up a new password for on-line banking, which I did. When I downloaded the app on my mobile, I was asked to make a NEW password for the mobile, different than the online. I did that too. I am trying to log in on-line to my account, to print the statement and I am told that my password is incorrect. Are there two different passwords required for on-line account access and mobile access? I prefer to do my work on-line.

My Mastercard Citibank, will the PIN on that card remain the same?
    Pauline - CreditCard.com.au

    4 December 2025
Hi Bob, thanks for your question. When Citi cards were moved to MyCard, customers are still able to keep using their existing PIN unless MyCard advised otherwise. If you haven’t been asked to change it, your PIN should remain the same. You can check MyCard’s transition FAQs HERE. If you’d like to confirm your PIN status or reset it for peace of mind, MyCard’s support team is available on 13 24 84.
