What we love...

New cardholders can earn up to 100,000 bonus Amplify Points75,000 points in year 1 when you spend $3,000+ on eligible purchases within 90 days of new card approval, plus an extra 25,000 points after your first eligible purchase in year 2. New cards only. T&Cs apply.

Earn 1.25 Amplify Points per $1 on everyday spend, 2 points per $1 on international spend, and 1 point per $1 on all other purchases. Once you spend $5,000 in a statement cycle, further eligible purchases in that cycle earn 0.5 points per $1. Points don’t expire while your account remains open and in good standing.

You could redeem your points for travel on a variety of airlines, using them as frequent flyer miles on programs that include Malaysia Airlines’ Enrich and Singapore Airlines’ KrisFlyer. You could redeem your points for gift cards or retail vouchers, homewares, or tech. You could even use it for a greater cause and donate to one of their listed charities. How you choose to make use of your points is entirely up to you.

If you want to earn Qantas points instead of Amplify see the BankSA Amplify Platinum Credit Card – Qantas.

To make this bonus offer work for you, make sure that you can afford the minimum spend amount. Most importantly, see to it that you clear your balance in full each month before it starts accruing interest.

Speaking of savings, the card has a discounted $99 first-year annual fee, then $175 p.a. thereafter.

What’s not so great...

Interest rates on purchases and cash advances are relatively high, so aim to clear your balance each month and avoid cash advances. Also note the earn rate drops to 0.5 pts per $1 on further eligible purchases once you hit $5,000 spend in a statement cycle.

Note as well that you won't be eligible for the bonus points offer if you currently hold or have held an Amplify, Amplify Platinum or Amplify Signature card issued by BankSA, Bank of Melbourne, or St.George in the last 12 months.

Why should you choose this card?

There are several reasons you may want to choose this card. First- its enticing introductory offers which include the bonus points.

Second—overall value. With a $99 first-year fee (then $175 p.a.), you get solid earn rates plus extras such as international travel insurance (up to 3 months), extended warranty and purchase protection, and one additional cardholder at no extra cost.

Overall Rating

Hi Peter, there’s many things that providers look at behind the scenes when you apply, beyond the published eligibility criteria. One of these is the limits of any other credit cards you might have. So if you have a $5,000 credit limit on the Amex, but aren’t using all of it, a new provider won’t see this. They’ll just know you have a $5k limit. This will then factor into your affordability for a new card too.If you’re confident you met all the criteria, you can go to BankSA’s official website, read the fine print and apply for the card.

Hi Anna, I checked this for you and see that complimentary insurances are included with BankSA Amplify Platinum card - international travel insurance, extended warranty, overseas transit accident insurance to name a few. Pandemics, like COVID, are listed as an exclusion. You can check BankSA’s official complimentary insurance PDF for further information on the coverage.

Interested in what is exactly good credit and not applied for multiple credit cards recently? Does this mean in the last 12 months or 24 months?

    30 November 2020
Hi Sta, good credit is not having any black marks on your credit rating. Also relates to paying bills on time, not been overdrawn on your bank account as examples. Typically I suggest you only apply for 1 credit card every 6 months. So if you have not applied for longer than this.
