The Suncorp Clear Options Business Credit Card

A flexible option for business owners, the Suncorp Clear Options Business Credit Card is a basic business card that doubles as a rewards card. Accountholders can add up to 99 additional cardholders to the account, with the option to earn rewards on cardholder spending within two levels of membership. Rewards members may also access additional features, which include a Personal Business Assistant and access to the Suncorp Travel Centre.

What we love...

Let’s talk about what the Suncorp Clear Options Business Credit Card has to offer at its most basic level first. Accountholders can add up to 99 additional cardholders to the account, setting individual spending limits for each cardholder, while receiving individual statements to monitor and manage activity.

With up to 55 days interest free on purchases, the card also offers business owners the opportunity to manage their cash flow more effectively. Providing employees access to credit when they need it, business owners can keep interest costs at zero with this interest free feature, as long as they pay their balance in full each month by the due date.

Now, on to rewards. The Suncorp Clear Options Business Credit Card offers accountholders the option to earn points on the Suncorp Rewards program, providing the choice of two levels of membership. Accountholders can also choose to redeem points at an individual or business level.

Standard Rewards Membership:

  • $20 p.a. per card issued
  • Earn 1 Reward point for every $1 spent (up to 80,000 points per card per year)

Premium Rewards Membership with Qantas Frequent Flyer:

  • $69 p.a. per card issued
  • Earn 1 Reward point for every $1 spent (up to 80,000 points per card per year)
  • Redeem 2.5 Reward points for 1 Qantas Frequent Flyer Point

Redemption options on the Suncorp Rewards program are nice and varied, with the option of redeeming points for travel, merchandise and gift cards. Upgrading to Rewards also provides accountholders with access to two appealing features:

  • The Personal Business Assistant can assist you with travel bookings, event and hotel bookings, gift shopping, conference services and more.
  • The Suncorp Travel Centre is an online portal that can be used to redeem Rewards points for travel. Here, you can search and book flights and hotels, rent cars, plus access a range of holiday packages.

What’s not so great...

As with any card comparison, it all comes down to value. What’s nice about the Suncorp Clear Options Business Credit Card is the fact that it basically offers three levels to suit accountholder needs. To make the right choice for you, be sure to take into account the annual fee on each card, and any additional rewards fees. Then calculate the value of what each option will offer.

It’s also worth taking note of the card’s interest rate. The rate attached to purchases and cash advances isn’t low, so it’s best to avoid interest accruing by taking advantage of the card’s interest free feature.

Why should you choose this card?

The Suncorp Clear Options Business Credit Card offers plenty of flexibility, which could appeal to small to medium sized businesses, with up to 100 cards on one account. While it doesn’t offer any of the bigger extras that some premium business cards do – think hotel stays and airport lounge access – it does offer the option to choose the level that suits your business.

Accountholders can use the card at millions of locations around the world, with access to Visa features such as Visa payWave, Visa Entertainment, Verified by Visa and Visa Zero Liability. Support is offered in the form of 24/7 Customer Service, and Lost Card Replacement replacing lost cards within 24 hours in Australia.

Hi Kylie, you would need to speak to Suncorp customer service in regards to this. I understand what you mean and maybe this is a feature that is not available on this product, aka you cant set a future date for bpay, just make the payment on the day.
