How Do I Get An ANZ Gold Frequent Flyer Card?

Not only is ANZ one of the biggest banks in the country, it is also has some of the most competitive rewards cards available.

For people looking for a frequent flyer card, the ANZ Frequent Flyer comes with Visa and American Express cards to help maximise points.

In the past the two membership levels for this card were standard and gold, but in 2010 ANZ made a commitment to offer more benefits for cardholders and transitioned from the Gold Frequent Flyer to the Platinum Frequent Flyer.

The official statement on the ANZ website outlined increases to international travel insurance – from four months to six months cover – and an annual fee waiver for eligible cardholders.

So why did they get rid of gold altogether? According to the website, the change was “because we’ve listened to our customers’ feedback about what they want out of their credit card.”

While there are now no gold card options available through ANZ, people can still choose to get a more premium ANZ Frequent Flyer card in the form of the Platinum option.

The ANZ Platinum Frequent Flyer card offers uncapped points at a rate of 1.5 points per $1 with the American Express card and 0.5 points per $1 when the Visa option is used.

To get this card, a number of different requirements will need to be met during the application process, including:

  • Citizenship or permanent residency
  • An excellent credit score; and
  • A minimum income of $50,000

Once these conditions are met it is simply a matter of applying online or in person and waiting for card approval.

With a number of dual reward card options and countless reward partners, ANZ offer both standard and premium card benefits that anyone can enjoy.

While there are now no gold card options available through this bank, the platinum cards they offer provide even more benefits than ever before.
