- 13.20% p.a. on purchases and cash advances
- $39 annual fee
- Up to 55 days interest free on purchases
Offering a basic, low cost option, the Queenslanders Credit Union Visa Credit Card has a low purchase rate and low annual fee, with up to 55 days interest free on purchases. If you want to earn rewards on your card spending, you can opt in to the Rewarder program for an additional annual fee, to receive cashback on your Rewarder Loyalty card.
In its most basic guise, the Queenslanders Credit Union Visa Credit Card is a simple, low cost card designed to help cardholders save money. With a low ongoing purchase rate, the card could work well for those who carry a balance, helping to keep interest costs down over time. As for those who clear their balance each month, they can also save on interest, with up to 55 days interest free on purchases.
Offering further money saving opportunities, the card also has a low annual fee. This can help cardholders to keep outgoing costs down over the longer term, with the option to add an additional cardholder to the account at no extra cost.
But, that’s not all the Queenslanders Credit Union Visa Credit Card has to offer. You can turn it into a rewards card simply by opting in to the Rewarder program and paying an additional annual fee. Unlike many other rewards programs, this one is perfectly easy to understand. You will earn 1 Loyalty Point for every eligible $1 you spend on the card.
Capped at 10,000 per month, these Loyalty Points are automatically credited to your Rewarder account on a monthly basis and your points are converted into a dollar amount, with 150 Loyalty Points equalling $1. You can then use your Rewarder Loyalty card at any merchant that offers EFTPOS facilities in Australia, and who accepts the card.
In this way, you can earn points to spend in almost any way you please, with no complex rewards system to figure out. Say you spend $2,000 per month on your card, that would give you 24,000 Loyalty Points in a year. Minus the card’s annual fee, that would provide just over $60 to spend on your Rewarder Loyalty card.
As a basic card, there’s not much to complain about. However, if you opt in to earn rewards, you will need to spend over a certain amount to make that additional annual fee worth paying. As with most rewards cards, bigger spenders typically see more value.
If you want a low cost card, the Queenslanders Credit Union Visa Credit Card could help you save on both interest and your annual fee. Offering some nice flexibility, the card doubles as a rewards card, but as we mentioned earlier, you will need to make sure you spend a sufficient amount on the card to make that additional rewards annual fee worthwhile.
In terms of features, these are on the simple side. However, you can benefit from access to Visa’s extensive network, and the various Visa extras on offer, including Visa payWave contactless payments, exclusive offers and pre-sale tickets through Visa Entertainment, and added security through Verified by Visa and Visa Zero Liability.
Cardholders also have access to a variety of different card designs. You simply need to ask about the different options available to you. If you are a Cowboys fan, you may be interested in the limited edition Cowboys card design currently available.
A flexible option, the Queenslanders Credit Union Visa Credit Card is a basic low cost card that doubles as a rewards card, earning points on the Rewarder program.
