The NAB Qantas Business Signature Card with 150,000 bonus Qantas Points

With a whopping 150,000 bonus Qantas Points on offer, the NAB Qantas Business Signature Card has a lot to offer if you're after a business credit card solution. But how does it fare in the long term?

Providing a decent earn rate on the Qantas rewards program, the card could be an ideal everyday rewards card for your business, offering a number of convenient business tools and handy extras, backed by all the support and security you would expect from one of Australia's big banks.

What we love the NAB Qantas Business Signature card

First, let’s take a closer look at that bonus points offer. You'll get 150,000 bonus Qantas Business Reward points when you apply by 30 June 2024 and spend $4,000 on everyday business purchases within 60 days of the account opening.

Qantas Business Rewards is a separate rewards program that earns Qantas Points for small to medium-sized businesses. With Qantas Business Rewards you can access exclusive savings on eligible Qantas flights, Qantas Club memberships, and earn Qantas Points for everyday business expenses such as petrol, insurance, technology, stationery and more.

As an extra bonus, each Frequent Flyer cardholder will get an extra 250 bonus points for every eligible Qantas booking.

You'll earn points on everyday business purchases: 1 Qantas Point for every $1.50 you spend, making it easy to turn your business expenses into rewards. This card also earns points on eligible government payments.

Let's look at some of the perks. With your own personalised global concierge service from Visa, you can take advantage of a number of travel and lifestyle services. These include pre-trip information on major destinations worldwide, assistance with restaurant reservations and event bookings, and cultural, sporting, shopping and tourist information on request.

Visa also provides cardholders with a multitude of special travel and retail privileges, allowing you to save on car rental, access accommodation booking services, receive special offers on VIP airport lounge access and travel assistance programs, and benefit from exclusive discounts and complimentary gift items at duty free retailers and shopping centres.

What’s not so great...

With each of these offers – and the rewards program – comes small print. Take time to check it all out, making sure you are aware of any terms and conditions that may apply to you.

It’s also worth keeping in mind that this is a prestige card offering prestige perks. Weigh up how much you are paying in annual fees and interest against everything the card offers, to ensure the card really is worthwhile.

Why should you choose this card?

One way to check a card’s value is to round up the various features on offer. Luckily, the NAB Qantas Business Signature Card still has a few tricks up its sleeve.

First and foremost, it provides full control over business spending, giving you multiple cards with individual credit limits under a single account, as well as detailed monthly statements per cardholder and one overall summary.

As a cardholder, you can also expect a certain level of support. You can benefit from Visa’s 24/7 global customer assistance, wherever you are in the world, while taking advantage of complimentary unauthorised transaction insurance and transport accident insurance.

You're also backed by NAB Defence’s fraud protection, and online security by Verified by Visa.

Overall Rating

A prestige business rewards card offering plenty of perks and business extras, as well as 150,000 bonus Qantas Business Rewards points as an introductory offer.

Does this card allow bank feeds so transactions will be automatically fed into MYOB?

Hi Matt, NAB doesn't mention anywhere that this card integrates with accounting software. I believe it used to have something to that effect, but not anymore.

I'm a sole trader hairdresser looking for a business credit card that has the most travel points with the lowest annual fees.
    Pauline - CreditCard.com.au

    8 February 2023
Hi Carolyn! You have a few options to think about. You can use the business credit card comparison guide and click ‘annual fees’ to sort from lowest to highest, then compare the points. It depends on what kind of points you’re after - for travel, you can choose from Qantas, Velocity or Amex, or you can use bank rewards programs like NAB and convert your points to Qantas or Velocity (not all do, so check the points program first). Business cards often come with software that makes tax-time easier, but if you think you don’t need those extras you could also compare personal credit cards that earn frequent flyer points. Again, sort by annual fee and see how the points and bonus points stack up. I hope that helps Carolyn! All the best with your business.

Is there a minimum time you have to keep this card active and if you pay it off sooner and close the card in under 12 months is it still the $295 annual fee?
    Pauline - CreditCard.com.au

    Pauline

    18 November 2022
Hi Lisa, the annual fee is actually charged to your account in the first month and usually reflects on your first statement, then around the same time each year. If want to avoid paying the annual fee the following year, you’ll need to pay the card off completely and cancel it before the anniversary of the next fee. You won’t receive any reimbursement for the annual fee you’ve paid if you cancel the card early. Hope that helps Lisa!

Looking at this card for business purchases, business and personal flights, overseas expenditures, can we use in the USA ? What is the points per $1 spent is Aust ? and do we get points in USA ? Points for ATO payments?
    Pauline - CreditCard.com.au

    Pauline

    14 November 2022
Hi Michelle, the NAB Qantas Business Signature card earns 1 Qantas point per $1.50 on regular business spending, and you’ll earn that same rate on payments to the ATO (but not other government bills like rates). You can earn points on overseas transactions, that are calculated “on the Australian dollar amount of Net Purchases appearing on the Monthly Card Statement at the end of the Card Statement Period”, the NAB PDS says. Hope that helps!

If we have a card for each business partner(2), do we choose where the points are distributed to?

    18 May 2021
Hi Darren, thanks for your question! The points earned can be transferred to any Qantas Frequent Flyer member that you nominate in your NAB account. If you’re not a member of Qantas you can sign up as part of the application process.

Hi Steven, you can apply for the NAB Qantas Business Signature card as long as you're a sole trader, a partnership with up to two partners, a company with up to five directors, or a trustee of an eligible trust. You must also have 12 months of reconciled business financial data from your accounting package. I want to know if I'm eligible for bonus points on a NAB Qantas Business Signature.
    Roland B Bleyer - CreditCard.com.au Founder

    Roland

    27 January 2021
To be eligible for the 100,000 bonus Qantas Points offer, you must apply for a new NAB Qantas Business Signature Card before the offer is withdrawn, be approved and spend $4,000 on everyday business purchases within 60 days of account opening. Everyday business purchases are purchases made in accordance with the NAB Qantas Commercial Card Rewards Conditions (PDF, 326KB). These terms describe the purchases not eligible to earn points including, but not limited to, transactions NAB decides are wholly or partly for gambling or gaming purposes. Bonus points will be credited to the qualifying member’s account within three months of meeting the spend criteria.

Hi Roland, I just submitted 2 questions but thought of another! Our bookkeeper requires our statements to run from 4th of each month to ensure by the end of the month everything is included due to some payments having a slight delay. Can we request statements for this billing period please? Many thanks Claire

Hi Claire, statement periods will be set by NAB. They will relate to when your card is approved. I do not believe you have control of this. Though with the feeds transactions should automatically come in.

Hi Kristy, it doesn't make sense but yes. So this card is not focused for businesses that need a decent number of cards. Have a look at the American Express Qantas Business with up to 99 additional cardholders at no extra cost. Plus heaps more points earning.

    17 February 2020
Hi Mitul, here are the terms - https://www.nab.com.au/content/dam/nabrwd/documents/terms-and-conditions/banking/nab-rewards-terms-and-conditions.pdf. Checking what transactions don’t earn Points? There are some transactions which can be made using your Card which won’t earn Points because they aren’t eligible. They are: (a) cash advances (which include bills paid over the counter at a bank, financial institution or post office, and the purchase of travellers cheques); (b) bank fees, charges and interest (including any GST payable on any of these) applicable to your Rewards Card Account or use of the Card or to NAB Rewards; (c) Government fees and charges, which includes transactions where the Card is used to make payments to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO); (d) balance transfers, except where Bonus Points may be earned under a special promotion specifically for balance transfers; (e) where a Card is used to access linked transaction accounts; (f) purchase of foreign exchange or travellers cheques and money orders; (g) for a Personal Rewards Card Account, transactions we decide are wholly or partly for business purposes; (h) unauthorised purchases for which you are not liable; and (i) transactions for gambling and gaming purposes (examples include purchase of lottery tickets purchases of gaming chips or tokens and online gambling).

I already have a personal credit card linked with my Qantas rewards. If I apply for the NAB business card, can I still use the same Qantas rewards program? Thanks,
    Roland B Bleyer - CreditCard.com.au Founder

    Roland

    10 February 2020
Hi Diego, good question. It does not matter that you have a personal card linked to your Qantas account. You could have a number of different cards linked to the same Qantas Frequent Flyer account. So it should not be a problem for the business card as well.
