WORST CREDIT CARD COMPANY I HAVE EVER USED!!!!! I was approved for $12,500 and only had the card for about 2 weeks and was told I had been withdrawn effective immediately. You will be unable to use your card for new transactions, until further notice. I hadn't even spent anywhere near the credit limit. The company couldn't even give me a reason why my credit card had been withdrawn. I had never missed any payments and have a high credit rating. BE AWARE JET STAR MASTER CARD WILL APPROVE YOU A CREDIT LIMIT AND THAN TAKE IT BACK AFTER YOU HAVE STARTED USING THE CARD!!!

What an absolute joke of a company. Do not touch this company even if your life depended on it. This is from my wife's facebook page. Jetstar credit card through Maquarie Bank - DONT GO THERE - absolute rubbish service. It took 3 attempts at sending different information over about 3 weeks to get the aproval, then it was activated on the 6th Jan and blocked on the 29th Jan. I call ever 2 weeks on my day off so i have time to wait and still up to today dont have an answer as to why it was blocked. TIO tomorrow and then tell them to shove it where the sun don't shine. Thoroughly discusted with the lack of customer service.

The Jetstar Mastercard

Allowing you to earn rewards points as you travel, the Jetstar Mastercard could be the perfect credit card for you if you fly frequently with Jetstar. With a heap of Jetstar-related extras, this card has plenty going for it, and if you apply, you can also benefit from 0% on balance transfers for 14 months.

What we love...

When it comes to credit card comparison, it’s hard to go past enticing introductory offers. With the Jetstar Mastercard, there is one introductory offer on the table. As a new cardholder, this gives you 0% p.a. on balance transfers for 14 months, allowing you a decent length of time to pay off your transferred balance.

Now, on to what makes the Jetstar Mastercard worthwhile on a day-to-day basis. As a travel rewards card, the Jetstar Mastercard lets you earn 1 Jetstar Dollar for every $100 you spend on eligible purchases. You will receive a $100 Jetstar Travel Voucher for every 100 Jetstar Dollars you accrue, which can then be used to book any available flight on Jetstar.com.

If you choose to opt in to the Qantas rewards program, you will earn 0.5 Qantas Points per $1 spent on eligible purchases, up to a maximum of 25,000 points per year. Qantas Points can be redeemed on flights and upgrades, or used within the Qantas Store.

What’s not so great...

While the Jetstar Mastercard has a relatively low purchase rate, its cash advance rate is pretty high. To circumvent this issue, it’s best to avoid cash advances altogether, and whenever possible, clear your balance each statement period to avoid interest accruing on your purchases.

Why should you choose this card?

It’s a no-brainer. If you fly with Jetstar on a regular basis, it makes sense to choose a credit card that rewards you for your spending, while providing worthwhile Jetstar-related perks. So, what kind of perks are on offer with the Jetstar Mastercard?

As a cardholder, you can fly interest free, paying 0% p.a. interest for six months on flight or hotel bookings of $300 or more made on jetstar.com or via the Jetstar call centre. These transactions will automatically receive the interest free offer.

You will also save on payment fees when you use your Jetstar Mastercard to book flights on jetstar.com or via the Jetstar call centre. In addition, you can take advantage of 10% off food and drinks purchases when you use your card on board any Jetstar flight.

With its relatively low interest rate, the Jetstar Mastercard can help you save on interest if you carry a balance. However, if you clear your balance, you can enjoy up to 55 days interest free on purchases, as long as you have paid off any balance transfers.

Overall Rating

A great option for regular Jetstar travellers, allowing cardholders to earn Jetstar Dollars or Qantas Points, with plenty of Jetstar-related perks on offer and 0% p.a. on balance transfers for 14 months.

    29 May 2013
Hi Lyndell, ultimately I guess it comes down to which airline points you want and will use more for this. With this card you can choose to convert points once per year to Qantas Frequent Flyer points for a fee.The purchase rate is the interest rate you pay for purchases you make on the card, so when you swipe it in the store or use it online (or sometimes to pay bills too, depending on how the biller is set up in BPay). The cash advance rate applies if you withdraw money from the ATM and on government taxes. The cash advance rate is almost always higher.Cash advances on this card also carry a cash advance fee of 3% of the transaction value or $5, whichever is greater. Australia Post deposits/withdrawals also incur a $2.50 fee, and there is a foreign exchange fee of 3% for international transactions.Hope that helps.
