As of this month the Commonwealth Bank (CBA) is offering bonus rewards points instead of $50 cash back for new approved applicants on its three Awards credit cards; standard, gold and platinum. The Diamond Awards credit card will still have $50 cash back instead of Awards points. Bonus points for new customers will apply as follows:
- 12,000 points to approved Awards card applicants
- 15,000 points to approved Gold Awards card applicants
- 20,000 points to approved Platinum Awards card applicants
The new points offer is for a limited time, and does not apply to the Commonwealth Bank Low Fee credit card, Low Fee Gold card or the Commonwealth Bank Low Rate or Low Rate Gold credit card.
CommBank Kaching has also been updated
Commbank Low Rate Credit Card
Get 0% on purchases for the first 12 months. This card comes with a low standard purchase rate of 12.99% and up to 55 days interest free on purchases.
This offer change comes two days after the CBA also updated its Kaching app for smartphone users and introduced a new social banking app for facebook users. “With facebook popularity skyrocketing to more than 55 per cent of the population in Australia, we know our customers, particularly facebook’s core user base of 18-35 year olds, are looking for new ways to connect their banking and their lives, friends and causes inside facebook,” said the bank’s Chief Marketing and Online officer, Andy Lark.
The new app allows CBA account holders to pay facebook friends, or anyone with a mobile number of e-mail address, while logged in and post payment requests to friends’ timelines or via private message.
