Upgraded from standard NAB credit card to the gold card mostly for the insurances you get with it. Some travel related insurances and some shopping related insurances the extended warranty is helpful and much cheaper that extended warranties offered in stores.

Hi Peter - for existing NAB cardholders you would have to deal with the bank directly. You may be offered a different rate, depending on what you have used from your available credit limit etc. If you wish to consider a balance transfer the promotional rates from other banks can be viewed here.

Hi McDonald, if you are referring to the NAB Qantas Rewards Platinum card that is different. The Qantas Rewards Platinum card has no points cap and free membership to the Qantas Frequent Flyer program, where the Premium card isn't linked to any frequent flyer program. You do still get international travel insurance and other perks with the Premium card. NAB currently charges 2.5% for foreign currency transactions. You can read about that, and what the other banks charge here. In that article we've also listed the cards which don't charge for international transactions if that's what you're interested in.

Hi Maureen, you should start by reading our guide to free travel insurance with credit cards (there is a section covering NAB cards by themselves). IF you can't find what you need there, the NAB card insurance booklet is available online (just google it if you weren't provided a copy with your card). Hope that helps!!

Is there an age limit on NAB platinum credit card international travel insurance, and if so what is the age please?
    • user pic

      Roland

      April 4th, 2013 at 10:11am

Hi Michael you must be over the age of 18 to apply for a credit card, and any primary cardholder is eligible for this cover. The card insurance policy (available from the website) states cardholders are eligible up until the age of 90 under the Overseas Travel Insurance plan. Insurance policies may have different age limits for different cover or activities, and different limits can apply so you'd have to check the policy itself to find that out. Hope that helps.

Hi Sydel, we are not aware of any exceptions to minimum income requirements where they are clearly stated on the application. There are different minimum income requirements for other cards available, however so you could have a look for other options. Best of luck!

Hi I have a personal loan with CBA of $17,000 and a credit card with a bal of $5637 I want to consolidate them all together at a low rate. Can i BT a personal loan onto this card?

      February 15th, 2013 at 4:13pm

Hi Holly, unfortunately you aren't able to transfer a personal loan onto this card, so your options would include doing the balance transfer from your credit card only, or taking out a separate loan. There is also a credit card which allows you to transfer the balance of a personal loan offered by Citibank, it's called Ready Credit and the rate is 12.99% on the credit card or 10.99% on the personal loan product. That is another option you may wish to consider. you should always check the terms and conditions on any card or loan you consider, and remember we don't know your whole situation so unfortunately we can't help further than that. Best of luck finding a good option!

Does the travel insurance cover incidents that happen overseas?

      February 7th, 2013 at 4:28pm

Hi Marissa, According to the policy for the NAB Gold Card, you are covered for up to $20 000 if your travel is cancelled, your luggage or travel documents are lost; you miss a connection on transport or have a collision while out and about (this includes car hire excess). Apart from that you are covered (to the same amount) for accidental death and disability, hijacking or detention we well as kidnap or ransom and personal liability. To be eligible for cover, terms and conditions also state that you must use the card for at least $500 worth of your prepaid transportation costs. So that means at least $500 off your flight, bus, train, ferry or boat tickets must be paid for with the card. Spending this on accommodation costs and/or organised land tour costs (including fees, charges and taxes) will also count, and you will be covered with comprehensive Overseas Travel Insurance cover for trips lasting up to six months. You can find out more by reviewing the full policy document for the NAB Gold card.

My wage is $120k per Annum How much balance transfer maximum credit card can I get? Current cards $15k can I get this? To transfer whole amount? Cheers
    • user pic

      Roland

      February 4th, 2013 at 10:30am

Hi Jason, as the NAB will make an assessment based on all the information on your application, we can't provide you an answer to how much you will be allowed to transfer. It is worked out based on the bank's lending criteria and your credit history (more than just your wage). That is highly personal detailed information that should only be shared between you and the bank. Do remember that you are able to put down the maximum credit limit that you want on the balance transfer application if you know the amount you need. If you don't, you can leave that question blank and the bank will assign you a credit limit based on its criteria. Thanks and best of luck with your application.

      February 4th, 2013 at 11:20am

Hi Karina, the T's and C's of this card allow you to add one additional cardholder for no extra charge. More than that and you would have to contact the bank.
